Funding Available for Individuals Seeking Initial Crane Operator, Rigging, and Signalperson Training and CCO Certification
October 14, 2024 – The NCCCO Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of two new scholarships for those seeking to begin a career in the exciting crane industry. The first scholarship program provides financial support for those who want to get quality training that leads to first-time CCO certification as a rigger or signalperson. The second scholarship program provides financial support for those who want to get quality training that leads to first-time CCO certification as a crane operator.
“The NCCCO Foundation is committed to helping more people start a rewarding career in the crane industry.” stated T.J. Cantwell, Executive Director of NCCCO Foundation. “There are many great careers available in the crane industry but in some cases, it can be difficult to find the money necessary to get the training and certification needed to be successful. This is why the NCCCO Foundation is launching these new scholarships along with our MyCraneCareer.org outreach and communications campaign that started in September.”
Applications with specific details on all the requirements for each of the scholarships are available on the NCCCO Foundation website at www.ncccofoundation.org/scholarships. In general, applicants will be required to provide information demonstrating they have not held a certification previously, the CCO Education Services Accredited Training Provider (ATP) they want to use for training, and proof of financial need. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
“We are hoping to approve several scholarships before the end of the year to deserving applicants,” Mr. Cantwell stated. “However, funding is limited, and all applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the NCCCO Foundation with approval granted to only the best applicants.”
